Title: Bejeweled: What a Tangled Web We Weave by Chelle Ramsey
Genre: Women's Fiction
What I loved about the book:
I loved that it was a well-written novel with a very realistic and modern story line with just enough romance to keep me enticed. I mean the drama kept coming and coming. I could think of someone that I knew to match every character in the book. Although Olivia was the hair salon owner, she was also a Christian woman who truly cared about her employees and tried to help them in every way possible. When she tried to open a second business in Buckhead, she was greeted with opposition and tried to get around it. Meanwhile, her current employees were experiencing troubles of their own and the main one is Nikki. She was married to an abuser and attracted to one of the men on her job, Wesley.
What I didn't love about the book:
I didn't like that it was difficult for me to read at times due to the extreme domestic violence. I don't normally read stories like this but once I got started, I was compelled to finish the book. It is the second book of the series and left me with somewhat of a cliffhanger. I mean it was a complete story, but the ending left me wanting more and wondering what will happen next. Of course, I'm sure there's another book in the works that will answer all my questions.
If you love series, this would be a great investment for your money and time. Wonderful job, Chelle Ramsey!
